Ingredients
Scale
Filling
- 1 pound Ground Beef (lean is best)
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper (freshly ground preferable)
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese (cubed, preferably sharp)
Dough & Topping
- 2 cans Refrigerated Biscuit Dough
- 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter (melted)
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced, fresh recommended)
- 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese (omit for dairy-free)
- 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley (chopped, or substitute with chives or basil)
- 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Preparation: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking.
- Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef for 6-8 minutes or until browned and no longer pink inside. Drain any excess grease to avoid sogginess.
- Season the Beef: Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and freshly ground black pepper to the cooked beef. Stir well to incorporate all the seasonings evenly. Let the mixture cool for a few minutes so it’s easier to handle.
- Prepare the Dough: Open the refrigerated biscuit dough cans. Flatten each biscuit round to about 4 inches in diameter on a clean surface to create a base for the filling.
- Assemble the Bombs: Place a spoonful of the seasoned beef mixture and a cube of cheddar cheese in the center of each flattened biscuit round. Fold the dough edges over the filling and seal tightly to encase the ingredients completely.
- Add Garlic Butter Topping: Mix the melted unsalted butter with minced garlic to create a flavorful brush-on topping. Brush this garlic butter generously over the sealed dough balls.
- Garnish: Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese, chopped fresh parsley, and optional sesame seeds over the tops of the garlic butter-coated bombs for added flavor and texture.
- Bake: Arrange the cheeseburger bombs on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed up.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the bombs cool for a few minutes for easier handling. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces and enjoy your game night treat!
Notes
- Use lean ground beef to reduce greasiness and ensure the bombs are not too oily.
- If you prefer dairy-free, omit the cheddar cheese and parmesan cheese, or use plant-based cheese alternatives.
- For a fresher herb flavor, substitute parsley with chives or basil as desired.
- Make sure to seal the biscuit dough tightly to prevent the filling from leaking during baking.
- These bombs pair well with ketchup, mustard, ranch, or your favorite dipping sauces.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven for best crispness.
