Decorations
- 2 tablespoons pastel sprinkles or nonpareils
- 25 chocolate-covered almonds
- 1/4 cup pastel blend M&M’s
Instructions
- Prepare the base: Cut a square piece of parchment paper to fit inside your serving board. Using a spreader or butter knife, spread the vanilla frosting in an egg shape covering about three-quarters of the parchment paper.
- Add sprinkles: Sprinkle light pastel sprinkles or nonpareils on the top and bottom sections of the egg shape to add texture and color.
- Outline the egg: Arrange the chocolate-covered almonds around the edge of the frosting egg shape to create a colorful, touching almond border.
- Create zigzag lines: Choose two colors of the pastel M&M’s and form a zigzag line approximately 1½ inches from the top of the egg. Repeat the zigzag line with the same or different colors about 1½ inches from the bottom.
- Fill the spaces: Fill the remaining space at the top and bottom of the egg with additional sprinkles or nonpareils. Use colored M&M’s to fill the center area inside the zigzag lines, completing the colorful Easter egg design.
